Winning the Central Region, the Emory Eagles have been awarded the top seed in the 2008 SELC Playoffs. For a second consecutive year, EU has earned a first round bye and will begin the playoffs in the semi-finals. On April 19th at 12:15 pm, the Birds will return to Titan Stadium on the campus of Northview High School to meet the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between #4 Tennessee Wesleyan and #5 North Carolina Charlotte.

This season, there have been five releases of the Lax World MCLA Division 2 Top 25 Poll by CollegeLax.us. The D2 Preseason Poll on January 9th tabbed Westminster College, St. John's University (MN), the University of St. Thomas (MN), the University of Dayton, and Emory University as the top five programs that the MCLA has to offer respectively. In the three following publications, the top five remained unchanged from release to release...until today.
